— The Diagnosis Series, Module 01

Built inside the work.

The Diagnosis Series is not theoretical. It was developed, tested, and validated inside the San Francisco Department of Public Health Behavioral Health Services division, part of an 8,000-employee health department, across three years of embedded engagement (2023–2026). 200+ fellowship participants across four cohorts. 100+ executive coaching sessions across 18 individually assessed leaders. Six leadership retreats — three full-day, three half-day clinic retreats. Six policies developed and implemented, including the Antiracism Recruitment & Hiring Policy, Healing Time Off, and Respect in the Workplace. Race-conscious mediation protocol designed and piloted — 50+ cases. White accountability groups facilitated. Affinity group infrastructure built.

The engagement received the California Medical Association’s Cultural and Linguistic Competency & Implicit Bias Innovation Award, Overall Program (2025).

Every framework in the Diagnosis Series was tested, revised, and tested again inside the work.
